Ever since I joined Avedis’s classes as a young, awkward, and introverted kid with a passion for athletics and Wushu; to this day I am constantly humbled. I have been a participant for several years now and I am currently being trained to become a coach under his guidance. I have already begun coaching some classes in addition to gaining more experience by assisting Avedis with his sessions.
So, what does it mean to be a student of Avedis Seropian?
To be able to answer such a statement in words is not easy, as words cannot come close to describing what it’s like to be taught by such a brilliant teacher and mentor.
To be a student of Avedis is to be challenged and inspired; to achieve goals you never thought you could achieve but to also always keep pushing oneself and never settling for anything less. To be a student of Avedis is to be able to learn more about oneself as an individual in addition to learning about how much you can give back to others. Most importantly, to be a student of Avedis is to learn to always remain true to oneself no matter what.
Since I first joined his classes all those years ago, he has been and continues to be such a guiding light in my life that words really cannot justify and express how much he has inspired and continue to inspire me. The discipline and perseverance he has taught me through his classes, among his countless other teachings have played a huge part in shaping me to become the person I am today.
I am and will be forever grateful.
