WUSHU

"WUSHU IS BLACK AND WHITE, DARK LIGHT, STRONG AND SOFT. IT IS COMPLETE"

Wushu is the correct term for all Chinese martial arts, the roots of which date back many thousands of years. Literally translated, wu is “military”, shu is “art”: Wushu is therefore the “art of fighting”, or Martial Art(s). China considers Wushu to be one of its great cultural treasures. Today, it has been organized by the Chinese into a formal branch of study in underperformance arts and is the country’s most popular national sport.

"TAI CHI HAS THIS MEDITATIVE LAYER TO IT."

The Chinese characters for Tai Ji Quan (or T’ai Chi Chuan) can translate as “the supreme ultimate force”, a motion often associated with the Chinese concept of Yin and Yang, the dynamic duality that is present in all things. Also known as “ultimate energy boxing”, Tai Chi has a philosophical background: that of Taoism, the Chinese tradition first associated with the scholar mystic Lao Zi. Taoism fundamentally espouses a calm, reflective, and mystic view of the world steeped in the beauty and tranquility of nature, and accordingly, it is in the natural motions of animals and birds that its creators found their inspiration.

ACROBATICS & CALISTHENICS

Acrobatics is the art of tumbling, jumping, balancing, and using incredible skills that demand agility, power, and a high level of coordination. As such, the practitioner of acrobatics will often discover how hard each skill is to perform in real-time, and how the mindset of the acrobat defines the successful execution of each one of these movements that we often come to see applied in movies, stunts, and other parallel arts such as free running-parkour, calisthenics.

SELF-DEFENSE

"TO STAND YOUR GROUND AGAINST INTENTIONAL HARM"

Plainly put, self-defense is the act of protecting yourself when someone else initiates an attack on you. It is not an act of violence, but rather a countermeasure to prevent violence from happening to you or to others that you care about. It involves sets of skills that are taught to the practitioner that involve counteracting, blocking, punching, kicking, and joint-locking to get out of the situation that is causing distress.
